NMN and Resveratrol Explained

NMN and Resveratrol

NMN and Resveratrol on their own are both powerful supplements that boast a whole host of benefits, but when taken together they can make for a powerful combination.

Based on studies the combined use of NMN and resveratrol has the potential to decelerate cellular aging and offer additional favourable outcomes for the human body. This combination could potentially enhance strength, improve physical endurance, increase blood circulation and much more.

One of the biggest benefits is the ability to boost NAD+ Levels higher than NMN on its own. As David Sinclair puts it, NMN is like the fuel and Resveratrol is the accelerator.

How Much Does It Boost NAD+ Levels By?

In order to investigate the combined impact of NMN and resveratrol on NAD+ levels across various organ systems, a team of researchers based in China administered oral doses of these substances to adult mice.

The study revealed that NMN and resveratrol synergistically increased NAD+ levels in the heart and skeletal muscle, showing a 1.59-fold and 1.72-fold rise, respectively, within six hours of treatment. These findings suggest that a treatment regimen combining NMN and resveratrol could potentially be utilized for age-related conditions affecting the heart or skeletal muscle, such as cardiovascular disease or frailty.

It's important to note that that the NAD levels in the brain did not increase by adding Resveratrol to the NMN. There was an increase for the first 6 hours but then a decrease, bringing it back down to normal levels so on face value it doesn't appear that resveratrol mixed with NMN is directly increasing brain health through NAD+.

Healthy Metabolism, Improved Cardiovascular Health, Promoting Lifespan And Healthy Aging

Boosting NAD+ levels doesn't only improve the overall health of your cells, it also works on:

Metabolism: NAD+ is involved in essential metabolic processes. Increasing levels by 1.72 fold will enhance energy production and metabolism which can help with things like age-related weight gain

Cardiovascular Health: NAD+ influences blood vessel function and the production of molecules like nitric oxide, which improves blood flow and reduces cardiovascular risks.

Lifespan And Healthy Aging: Boosting our NAD levels supports the activity of sirtuins which are proteins involved in regulating cellular processes related to aging. Sirtuins, particularly SIRT1, have been associated with lifespan extension and healthy aging in various organisms.

Speaking of sirtuins, let's get into more detail on that below as it's of vital importance for healthy aging and might even be the key to helping us live healthy long lives.

Sirtuins

The sirtuins, including SIRT1–7, are a group of deacylases that rely on NAD+ for their function. They possess remarkable capabilities to prevent diseases and even reverse or slow down certain aspects of aging. Studies involving mice with increased SIRT1 or SIRT6 expression, as well as those treated with sirtuin-activating compounds (STACs) like resveratrol, SRT2104, or NAD+ precursors like NMN, have demonstrated improved organ function, enhanced physical endurance, increased disease resistance, and extended lifespan.

Trials conducted on non-human primates and humans have shown that these powerful compounds together have the potential to treat inflammatory and metabolic disorders, among other conditions. These advancements highlight the possibility of deliberately designing molecules that can alleviate multiple diseases and potentially prolong human lifespan.

Conclusion

On their NMN & Resveratol host a wide variety of benefits but together they are a force to be reckoned with when addressing longevity. Our findings suggest the following:

  • Resveratrol and NMN together can help boost NAD+ Levels by up to 1.72-fold in the heart and muscles
  • Ability to boost anti-aging sirtuins which can help to improve physical endurance, increase disease resistance and prolong human lifespan
